Our work for a sustainable future
We are committed to contributing to a better world, and that commitment has been strong for a long period of time. Everything we carry out and do in our business should promote good health and contribute to sustainable development. These are watchwords both in our daily activities and long-term. Our operational aim is to make optimal use of and conserve the Earth’s resources.
Environmental responsibility
We want to be able to proudly declare we are acting responsibly to ensure future generations will have a healthy planet on which to live. That is why we have set very ambitious targets relating to purchasing, water and energy consumption, and waste management. By assessing our performance both quarterly and annually, we are striving toward reduced consumption of resources.
Buildings
By using modern technology at all our premises, we can effectively manage energy consumption in an optimal, resource-efficient way. Any new installations we do should be energy-efficient, and any construction work should be carried out with utmost consideration for the environment. Energy recovery from refrigerators, freezers and swimming pools is just one of the areas we focus on.
Organic
We aim to, as much as possible, use organic, Fairtrade, and locally produced products and ingredients. Our goal is to constantly increase the amount of enviromental friendly and fresh produce. For example, all of our coffee is
marked with the Fairtrade label.
Our own wind turbines
Our hotels run on energy from our own wind turbines. Approximately 9 GWh of our wind power mean enough green energy to supply the needs of our three hotels and the homes of all our employees.
Nordic Swan Ecolabel certification
Our businesses have been approved and certified by the Nordic Swan Eco-label. The label takes a holistic approach and sets requirements for energy consumption, waste reduction, water consumption and chemicals.
We have also developed our own Nordic Swan Ecolabelled and vegan spa products, which are used across our spa facilities.
Fossil-free vehicle fleet
We have a number of electric or hybrid cars, which is our first choice of transport if the option of trains, bicycles or buses is not feasible.
Our hotels also offer charging stations for guests travelling by electric car.
Organic cotton
All bed linen and towels at our hotels are made from organic cotton. This is better for the environment and for those working on cotton farms, as it reduces their exposure to chemicals and pesticides that can be harmful to their health.

Local involvement
We play an active role in the local society and are often involved in local ventures. This, in turn, means we are committed to the geographical areas where we operate. We promote integration with immigrants that have recently arrived in Sweden and support different charitable organisations.
Sustainable experiences
A memorable stay should leave a lasting impression – while leaving as little impact on the environment as possible. This is an important part of our sustainability work, led by Katarina Kuzmanovic, Sustainability Manager at Lotus Hotel Group. Our work focuses on three areas across our operations: social sustainability, economic sustainability and the environment.

Our sustainability work is guided by the four targets below, which form part of the UN Sustainable Development Goals – the 2030 Agenda. We have identified these as the areas where our organisation has the greatest opportunity to make a difference, both through our own operations and through the standards we set for our suppliers and partners.

Lotus Hotel Group has good internal controls, but despite this there may be irregularities. We encourage people with knowledge or suspicion of wrongdoing to report it.
